Hey everyone,
I'm looking to upgrade my portable audio setup and could use some recommendations. I primarily listen to music on the go, whether it's during my daily commute or while traveling. I want something that offers great sound quality and is convenient to carry around.
Here's what I currently have:
- Smartphone: iPhone 11
- Headphones: Sony WH-1000XM3
While the Sony headphones are fantastic for noise cancellation, I feel like they lack a bit in terms of audio fidelity. So, I'm considering investing in a portable DAC (Digital-to-Analog Converter) and an amplifier to enhance the audio experience.
After doing some research, two models caught my attention:
DAC: AudioQuest DragonFly Red
- It's known for its compact size and high-quality sound reproduction.
- Supports up to 24-bit/96kHz audio resolution.
- Compatible with both iOS and Android devices.
- Features a built-in headphone amplifier.
Amplifier: Fiio A5
- Compact and durable design, perfect for travel.
- Offers powerful amplification with low distortion.
- Equipped with an 880mAh battery providing up to 13 hours of playback time.
- Compatible with a wide range of headphones.
My budget allows me to invest in either one of these devices at the moment. However, if you think there are better alternatives within a similar price range, please let me know!
Additionally, if anyone has experience using these specific models or any other suggestions for improving portable audio setups, I'd love to hear your thoughts. Are there any potential compatibility issues or concerns that I should be aware of?
Thanks in advance for your help!
