Is My Amp Trying to Take Over the World or Just My Living Room?
Okay, folks, I have a quick question about the Fender Frontman amps. So, I've got this trusty Fender Frontman 25R. It's been with me for years, putting up with my endless attempts at channeling Jimi Hendrix (often sounding more like a dying cat, but let's not go there). Here's the issue: lately, it seems to be developing a personality of its own.
Every time I switch it on, I swear it hums louder than a jet engine as if it's planning its next world domination scheme. Also, it occasionally lets out random squeals at the most inopportune times, like when my neighbors are finally enjoying their brief moments of silence. Bonus: The reverb sometimes sounds like a UFO is going to abduct my house.
What I want to know is - is this normal? Is it just my amp warning me it’s inching closer to quitting on me, or is this how it communicates its desire to become the supreme dictator of all amps? Should I prepare for an amplifier uprising, or is this just a friendly reminder that I desperately need an upgrade?
Would appreciate any feedback before my Frontman starts telling me what to do and how to live my life. Or suggests I should maybe practice tuning my guitar before blaming it for all my musical woes. Thanks in advance!
