I have a TD-07 DMK set and really enjoy the mesh pads. They're surprisingly responsive and offer a more natural feel compared to rubber pads, though if you've tried Roland’s higher-end models, you might notice the difference in refinement and sensitivity. For me, the TD-07 mesh pads strike a great balance between feel and affordability.
The sound module is quite versatile, with a range of drum sounds and kits to suit different styles. It might not have the depth of customization you'd find in higher-end models, but it covers a lot of ground for most playing situations. I find the built-in coaching features quite handy, especially the timing exercises; they’re useful if you're aiming to tighten up your playing.
For more advanced use, the MIDI capabilities are decent, allowing you to connect with DAWs or virtual instruments. While it holds up well for intermediate to advanced players, it’s worth considering additional triggers or samples if you need more complexity in your setup.
In terms of durability, I’ve had mine for over a year without any issues. I've found that positioning and tweaking the pads and stands to your playing style can make a big difference in ergonomics and playability.
Have you tried comparing it with any other electronic drum kits so far? That might give you a better idea of where it stands relative to your expectations.
