I've had the Simmons SD350 for a few months now, and it's been great for home practice due to its compact size and low noise level. The mesh pads feel pretty good, offering a more realistic drumming experience than rubber pads. However, when compared to other kits in the same price range, like some of Alesis or Roland's options, it might topple a bit short in terms of sound quality and variety. Durability-wise, it’s decent but do handle the kick pad with care as it seems a bit sensitive. For small gigs, it’s manageable if you tweak your settings right. Overall, I’d say it’s a solid choice for beginners or those needing a quiet practice kit.
