I've been observing public opinion polls about the greatest guitar players in history, and I've noticed that Jimi Hendrix often tops these lists. While I acknowledge his immense talent and iconic status, personally, there are several other guitarists who impress me more with their skills. For instance, Joe Bonamassa, Stevie Ray Vaughan, and Eddie Van Halen have showcased exceptoinal talents that resonate more with my musical preferences. And honestly, Eric Clapton has never really captivated me as much as he seems to captivate others. Moreover, there are many up-and-coming guitarists today who continue to push the boundaries of what can be achieved with a guitar. These observations lead me to question the criteria we use to judge 'the best’ guitarist - is it technical skill, innovation, influence or a combination of factors? What do you think defines a great guitarist?
