Yesterday, I received a call from the younger brother of one of my customers who recently passed away. He asked if I would be interested in inheriting his late brother's musical instruments. Moved by the offer, I visited the family today to extend my condolences. During the visit, they expressed how much their loved one valued my work and insisted that I take his guitars—whether to keep for myself or to sell.
So now, I find myself back home with three guitars along with some other items belonging to him. They're quite dusty and carry the strong scent of cigarette smoke, reminiscent of his two-pack-a-day habit. These guitars aren’t particularly high-end or fancy, but they certianly need some tuning and care.
I'm contemplating what to do next—whether to restore them for use or find them a new home where they'll be appreciated.
